Meet the Camarillo Team Behind Vance Gate Repair Camarillo
The crew that shows up at your gate in Camarillo is small on purpose. We keep the team lean so the person who answers your call knows the person who shows up, and the person who shows up knows exactly what was discussed. Adrian started this company in 2014 after years of commercial access-control work, and he hired the way he’d hire for his own house: background-checked, trained on the clock, and expected to leave a job site cleaner than they found it. Every technician is uniformed and you get their name and photo before they arrive. That’s not a policy someone wrote on a whiteboard. That’s just how we’ve worked since the first gate.
Our People
Adrian Vance, Owner
Adrian founded Vance Gate Repair in 2014 after running commercial access-control installations across Southern California. His background is in the unglamorous side of gates: wiring, logic boards, safety edge circuits, and the documentation habits that commercial properties demand. He still shows up on job sites in Camarillo, usually with a multimeter in his back pocket. If you want a long conversation about the merits of LiftMaster logic boards versus FAAC’s relay approach, he’s your guy, though he’ll tell you the honest answer is that whichever motor you already have is probably worth repairing. Adrian built the 365-Day Done Right Promise because he got tired of seeing homeowners pay twice for the same repair.
Miguel R., Lead Technician
Miguel has been with Vance since 2018 and handles the complicated ones: swing gates with failing hinges, slide gates with chewed-up V-track, and motors that previous installers wired with whatever wire was in the truck. He can diagnose a BFT control board by ear before he opens the housing - something about the relay click pattern, he says. Miguel is certified on LiftMaster, DoorKing, and FAAC systems, and he’s the technician we send when a gate has been “fixed” by three other companies and still doesn’t close right. Outside the gate trade, he coaches his daughter’s youth soccer team in Oxnard and insists he only does it for the orange slices.
Dana K., Senior Installer
Dana came up through commercial welding before moving to gate installation, which is why she gets the jobs involving cracked weld joints, bent steel posts, and gates that were never square to begin with. She’s the reason we can tell a Camarillo homeowner their gate post can be repaired rather than replaced - she has an honest sense of what steel will hold. Dana handles most of our full installations and custom gate fabrication, and she’s the person who verifies every safety edge and photo-eye alignment on a new install before we call it done. She keeps a notebook of every gate she’s welded since 2019, with little diagrams that make Adrian laugh and the rest of us glad we’re not being tested on them.
Sarah L., Service Coordinator
Sarah is the voice on the phone at most hours, and she’s the reason a live person picks up 24/7 instead of a voicemail tree. She dispatches the schedule, checks part availability from three different Camarillo suppliers, and calls you back when she says she will. Sarah used to coordinate field crews for an HVAC company in Ventura County, so she’s used to answering calls from homeowners who are frustrated, cold, or staring at a gate that won’t open. She also keeps the job documentation organized - every photo log, every written price, every part number - so when you call two years after a repair, we can pull the record instead of guessing. When a technician is running late, she tells you they’re running late. That’s the whole job and she’s good at it.
One Standard, Every Job

The rule is simple and it applies to everyone on this page: the written price comes before the work starts, and the photo documentation comes before the technician leaves. That’s the Haven Standard, the operating rule Vance Gate Repair brought to Camarillo from day one. Clause 1 says a written price before any work begins - not a ballpark over the phone, not “we’ll see when we get there.” Clause 4 says documented evidence on every visit: what was found, what was adjusted, what was replaced, photographed and left with you. The 365-Day Done Right Promise backs every repair we complete for a full year. It’s not a marketing tagline. It’s whether Miguel checks his work on the drive home, and whether Dana welds a bracket twice because the first pass wasn’t clean enough. One standard, no exceptions, no matter which of us knocks on the door.
